F.A.Q.'s | Overview

Q.

How do you spin?

A.

The main wheel turns the bobbin via the drive band. Tension on the drive band is adjustable and can be set to make sure there is no slip at the bobbin. You treadle, the wheel turns, the flyer and bobbin rotate, and twist is imparted to the fibers in your hand.

In order for the yarn to get on the bobbin automatically, there must be a change in the speed of the bobbin. Depending on the type of spinner you are using, the bobbin must: slow down on single drive wheels; speed up on double drive wheels in order for the flyer can facilitate wrapping the yarn around the bobbin.
